A Hootsuite alternative focused on the comment inbox
Hootsuite is a publishing suite with an inbox attached, starting at $99 per user per month on Standard as of 8 August 2026, quoted at the annual-commitment rate. If your day is spent in the inbox rather than the calendar, most of what you are paying for and navigating around is scheduling you do not use.

Scope is the difference
Hootsuite covers a wide set of networks and a deep publishing workflow. Replim covers four platforms and no publishing at all. That is a genuine limitation and it is also the point: the queue only ever contains comments, so it can be ordered by what needs answering first.
Side by side
| Replim | Hootsuite | |
|---|---|---|
| Focus | Comments only | Publishing suite |
| Cheapest paid plan | $29/mo per workspace | $99/user/mo (Standard) |
| Platforms | Four | Broader, incl. X, TikTok, Pinterest |
| Scheduling | No | Yes |
| Intent tagging on comments | Yes | Limited |
| Maturity | Pre-launch | Established |
The same trade-off applies to Sprout Social and Agorapulse, which are the other two tools people usually weigh at the same time.
What Replim does not do
- It does not schedule or publish posts. There is no content calendar. Replim handles what arrives after you post, not the posting.
- It does not send replies automatically. Every reply is a draft until a person approves it. There is no setting that turns automatic replying on.
- It does not support X/Twitter, TikTok, Reddit or Threads. Four platforms only: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube.
- It does not manage direct messages. Public comments only. DMs stay in the platform they arrived in.
Replim is a comment management tool, not a social media publishing suite. If you need a content calendar, you need a second tool alongside it.
Questions people ask
How much does Hootsuite cost?
Standard is $99 per user per month, Professional $199 and Advanced $399, all at the annual-commitment rate as of 8 August 2026. Month-to-month billing costs more. Standard includes 10 social accounts; the tiers above are unlimited.
What is the best Hootsuite alternative for comments?
For comments specifically, look at tools built around the inbox rather than the calendar: Agorapulse if you still need publishing, Replim if you do not.
Is there a free Hootsuite alternative?
Buffer has a free tier covering a few channels with a community inbox. Free tiers usually cap channels and history rather than features.
Do I lose scheduling if I switch to a comment tool?
Yes. Replim does not schedule posts, so you keep a publishing tool alongside it or publish natively.
Try it on your own comments
If the calendar is the part of Hootsuite you never open, a queue built only for comments is a smaller tool doing the job you actually have.
