What a unified social inbox is, and when you need one
A unified social inbox is one queue holding activity from every social account you connect, so you reply from a single place instead of opening each app. The important question is not whether to have one, but what it should contain: most bundle comments, direct messages, mentions and review alerts together, and that mixture is what makes them hard to work through.
Everything in one box is not the same as organised
The common complaint about large social inboxes is not that they are missing anything. It is that everything lands in the same place, keyword alerts included, so prioritising means reading past things that were never going to need a reply.
A queue of four hundred items where thirty matter is not obviously better than four tabs.
The case for a comment-only inbox
Comments are public, they are attached to something you published, and they are where buying questions appear in front of an audience. Direct messages are private and already feel like a conversation. Splitting them means the public queue stays small enough to actually clear.
That is the choice Replim makes: comments from four platforms, nothing else in the queue. The category guide covers how that queue is ordered and why.
Questions people ask
What is a unified social inbox?
One queue that collects activity from every connected social account so you can reply from a single place. What counts as activity varies by tool, and usually includes comments, direct messages and mentions.
Is a unified inbox better than replying in each app?
It is once you post on more than two platforms, mostly because it gives you a per-item status so two people do not answer the same person.
What is the difference between a unified inbox and a shared inbox?
Unified refers to multiple sources in one queue. Shared refers to multiple people working the same queue. Replim is both: one queue across four platforms, worked by a whole workspace.
Should DMs and comments be in the same inbox?
Not necessarily. Comments are public and attached to a post; DMs are private conversations. Keeping them apart keeps the public queue small enough to clear daily.
Try it on your own comments
If your inbox is so full that you skim it, the problem is what is in it. A queue of comments only is a queue you can finish.
